2. Help me choose which bind to use!
What are the properties of each type of bind?
wire-o: is a contemporary, professional
look. Documents lay flat and can be opened back to back.
plastic coil: Pages turn very easily and
your book will lay flat and can be opened back to back. Plastic
coil is the most durable bind.
plastic comb: is one of the most popular
binds, used by schools, businesses, and home users. These
binds are inexpensive and can be reused.
velo: Sleek, slim styling, books lay flat
when closed for easy filing and mailing. Velobind is considered
a 'secure' bind.
saddlestitching: often used for event programs
or booklets.
screw post bind, or chicago screw:is
used to secure very large documents.
acco bind: typically used for specifications
where you may need to frequently change sheets because it
is the easiest bind to add and remove pages.
perfect bind and book bind: is used when
a wraparound cover is desired

3. My document is large, what are my
binding options?
Use the following general guidelines:
If your document is under 1" to 1 1/4", wire 'o'
bind is fine
Up to 1 1/2" use Plastic coil
Anything larger than 2" you'll be using plastic comb,
screw posts, acco bind, or a 3-ring binder.

Measure the diameter of the ring itself, not the spine of
the book.
